What is Storm Advisor?

Storm Advisor is a free platform for homeowners to find pre-vetted pros to help them with everything from filing their claim to fixing their home.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to homeowners. Once vetted and invited to join, our pros pay a small fee when you connect with them to cover costs of operation. (We accept only 10% of the pros who sign up to be a part of our network.)

What geographic areas does Storm Advisor cover?

While we are rapidly expanding our operations, we currently offer coverage to the Gulf South region from Texas to Florida.

How do I know which pro to hire?

That’s the primary benefit of Storm Advisor: No matter who you choose, you’re going to make a great choice! We’ve done our research to ensure only the best pros are on our network. You can also use the ratings and reviews from the company’s profile to help you decide who’s the best fit for your job.

Do I have to hire Storm Advisor pros?

No. We match you with professionals who can meet your needs, but it’s up to you to decide whether you want to work with them or not. Whether they’re from our network or not, we recommend that you choose the pros with whom you have the best rapport and with whom you trust the most.

Managing Your Relationship with a Pro

How do I cancel a project or contract if I change my mind?

This is something that will have to be worked out between you and the pro. You can expect to pay for the work completed up to the point you want to cancel. Once you’ve sorted it out, we would love for you to come back and leave a review.

Will Storm Advisor cancel a pros account if I file a complaint?

We value your feedback and it’s vital to providing a quality service to our customers. If you have a dispute or grievance with one of the pros in our network we want you to file a complaint. We believe in fairness and will investigate both sides of the complaint before reaching our ultimate decision.We have found that many times, the dispute comes down to a miscommunication between both parties that can be easily solved. However, we reserve the right to remove pros from our network and will do so depending on the severity of the grievance or if we notice a bad trend with the pro.

How do I make sure that I don’t pay too much for my project?

We recommend that you get bids from multiple pros for the services that you need. This way you can compare them side-by-side and negotiate the best rate with the pro that you like the most.

How do you vet pros?

In a word, carefully! Our vetting process is the most in-depth and thorough in the industry. We accept only 10% of the pros who sign up to be a part of our network.

This means we conduct an extensive background check on the owner or principal of the business. We screen out felons and those with criminal records as well as those who have bad credit and a history of questionable business practices. We also make sure that they have the appropriate licenses, state filings, and insurances necessary to practice their trade. In addition, we rely on homeowners like you to provide ratings and reviews about your experience with the pros in our network.
